ePIXfab Silicon Photonics Summer School

On 3-7 July 2023, the 8th ePIXfab Silicon Photonics Summer School took place at Ghent University.

Participants from both industry and academia had a chance to explore Silicon Photonics from fundamentals to the latest developments in the science and technology of silicon PIC design, fabrication, assembly and testing for ever-growing applications of silicon photonics.

INSPIRE micro-trasfer printed InP/SiN platform was presented in two talks:

1/ Marcus Dahlem spoke about one of the emerging applications, LiDAR, and

2/ Gunther Roelkens discussed the integration of lasers in silicon photonics

Both explained the benefits of heterogeneous integration realized through wafer-scale micro-transfer printing in INSPIRE project.
