A look back at OFC 2023

Gunther Roelkens presented at OFC conference 2023 recent demonstration of narrow-linewidth tunable laser through micro-transfer printing a prefabricated III-V gain section on imec’s 200-mm Si/SiN platform.

Key results:

• Lasing in the C+L band
• Linewidth below 3 kHz
• The quality control of both the III-V and Si3N4 in their respective foundry is possible which creates path to high yield, by fabricating III-V and Si3N4 in separate, dedicated fabs
